Diagnostic Centre: 3D X-Ray for the Practice and Referring Colleagues

As an oral and maxillofacial surgery 3D X-ray centre, we offer digital volume tomography not only for our own patients but also as a service for referring colleagues.

3D Diagnostics for All Specialties

Our diagnostic centre is open to practising colleagues working in surgery, dentistry, implantology or orthodontics. We offer services related to digital volume tomography (CBCT) at various levels.

Compared to classic computed tomography, CBCT scores with significantly lower radiation exposure - while offering high detail accuracy for planning surgical and implantological procedures.

Three levels of collaboration

You decide how extensively we support you with the evaluation.

Digital X-ray image on screen

Image Data for Your Planning Software

You receive the CBCT scan in DICOM format or in Sidexis software, including a viewer, for your own assessment and measurement.

Software for three-dimensional implant planning

Imaging Including Planning

On request, we mark sensitive structures and the intended implant position directly in the images.

Manufacturing the Drilling Guide

Based on the planning, we manufacture a precisely fitting drilling guide and send it directly to you.

Applications of Three-Dimensional Diagnostics

Across specialties, 3D imaging helps with unclear findings that cannot be clearly assessed on a two-dimensional X-ray, with implant planning, with the assessment of impacted wisdom teeth near nerves, and in cyst and jaw diagnostics.

The Most Important Facts at a Glance

  • Our diagnostic centre also offers digital volume tomography (CBCT) for referring dental and orthodontic practices.
  • Compared to classic computed tomography, CBCT delivers significantly lower radiation exposure.
  • Referring practices can choose to receive raw image data, a completed implant plan, or a ready-made drilling guide.
  • 3D diagnostics helps with unclear findings, implant planning, wisdom tooth and cyst diagnostics.
  • Image data is provided in DICOM format or in Sidexis software, including viewer software.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I refer patients for CBCT as an external dentist?
Yes. Our diagnostic centre is open to practising colleagues from dentistry, surgery, implantology and orthodontics. You refer your patient and receive the desired image data or planning documents back.
What is the advantage of digital volume tomography over a classic CT scan?
CBCT works with a significantly lower radiation dose than a classic computed tomography scan and usually provides sufficiently precise three-dimensional images for dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery diagnostics.
In what format do I receive the X-ray data?
You can receive the images either in DICOM format for your own planning software or in Sidexis software including a viewer program for assessment and measurement.
Do health insurance companies cover the costs of a CBCT scan?
Cost coverage varies depending on the insurance provider and indication and is often not fully covered. We inform you transparently in advance about the expected costs.
